Do you find yourself frustrated at where you are in your life, and you're not sure how to make a change? The first step is often not movement at all but simply awareness. Instead of trying to change the situation, can you first lean into it just a little? Can you check in with yourself about where you are, and what exactly you want? THEN perhaps the answers come to you instead of you doing the work to seek them.
Try this simple journal exercise.
Read the questions and sit with them in quiet contemplation and journal what comes up for you. Then hold the questions posed below and perspective in your head and heart overnight. What comes through to you in your dreams? Perhaps take a week and journal every day on new ideas, new perspectives that come to you after simply sitting with what is, how you are reacting, and the question of what it means to you. Then being quiet enough to hear the answers.
What is it that you want?
Imagine anything is possible. It’s all laid out in front of you – the world, for your taking, for your interest, for your pleasure. What is it that would fill your days? Round out your nights? What would change from your now and what would be nearly exactly the same? Would your time feel different? How so? What if you owned every minute of your day? To fill as you wish? What if it had nothing to do with money? What if you could choose exactly what you want for your life?
What if that reality is actually here, now?
What, in your life, have you passively fallen into that you begrudge? What have you allowed in that doesn’t serve you? What have you forsaken? What if you saw it as a choice? Did you know it all can be? Even the stuff we say we can’t change. At some level, are we allowing it in? Or allowing the delaying of what we really want to do?
So, I ask you again. What is it that you want? Who? What? When? How? Can you see it in specifics? Or a feeling? Or a hope? If you feel any hesitation or block, can you start by simply writing down any word or phrase that comes to mind and start the winding path of your dreams by having a sit spot with your intuitive brilliance?
What if the answers aren’t beyond you or outside of you, but entirely within you? What if, instead of searching outside for the answers we were quiet enough to hear them in our hearts? What does your heart say? What does your heart want?
